Website information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains the limited information handled by the SOFCNY public website and the choices available to visitors.
Last updated 20 August 2026
Information you choose to provide
The website may process information you deliberately include in an enquiry, such as your name, email address, organization, country represented, selected subject, and message. Do not provide sensitive identity, diplomatic-status, immigration, medical, financial, or payment information.
Contact form
The form validates information in your browser and prepares an email addressed to the Society in your device's email application. The website does not silently transmit or store the form on a server. If you send the prepared email, your email provider and the Society's email provider process it under their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Browser storage
The New Consuls checklist can save completed items in your browser's local storage. This information stays on that device unless you clear it. No account is created and the checklist is not sent to the Society.
Analytics and cookies
This website does not intentionally use non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. This policy and any necessary consent controls must be updated before such technology is introduced.
External links and documents
The site links to official agencies, member consular websites, social platforms, and historical PDF documents. Those services operate under their own privacy and accessibility practices.
Security and retention
The website uses proportionate technical safeguards. Messages that visitors choose to send by email are handled through the Society's approved email process and are retained only as needed for the enquiry and applicable organizational obligations.
Your choices
You can choose not to send an enquiry, clear checklist progress through its Reset control or browser settings, and contact the Society about information you previously sent.
